Daily

  • Healthy food choices

  • Keeping active with regular exercise during the week

  • Taking diabetes medications

  • Blood sugar check (only if recommended)

  • Foot check (look for cuts, redness, swelling, sores, blisters, corns, calluses, or other change to the skin or nails)

Every 3-6 months

  • Fasting blood test (to assess diabetes control and cholesterol)

  • Blood pressure and weight & waist circumference check with GP

  • 6 monthly dental check

Every year

  • Optometrist/ophthlamologist check for diabetes eye disease

  • Foot check with podiatrist

  • Urine test with GP to check for kidney disease

  • Flu vaccination

Once-off

  • Other vaccinations such as pneumococcus (3 doses in total)
